GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The City of Goldsboro Commission on Community Relations and Development will bring the community together Saturday for a celebration focused on recovery, hope and connection.
The Recovery Month Celebration will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at The HUB in Downtown Goldsboro.
The free community event will feature food, music, vendors, speakers and entertainment while highlighting resources and support available to individuals and families.
Organizers say the celebration is designed to recognize recovery while providing an opportunity for encouragement and community connection.
The event is being held in recognition of National Recovery Month, which has been observed each September since 1989. The annual observance promotes and supports evidence-based treatment and recovery practices while recognizing the recovery community and those who provide services that make recovery possible.
The Goldsboro celebration will focus on the message of “Recovery, Hope and Community,” encouraging residents to come together in support of individuals and families whose lives have been affected by substance use and mental health challenges.
The event runs from 12 to 3 p.m. Saturday at The HUB in Downtown Goldsboro and is open to the community.
