GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A 20-year-old Goldsboro man has been arrested and charged with multiple felony offenses following an investigation into the sexual exploitation of children conducted by the Goldsboro Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
According to the Goldsboro Police Department, members of the SBI ICAC Task Force executed a search warrant on July 2 at a residence in the 100 block of South Georgia Avenue as part of an ongoing investigation involving the sexual exploitation of children.
During the search, investigators reported locating and seizing numerous files containing child sexual abuse material.
As a result of the investigation, Jakari Vick, 20, of Goldsboro, was arrested without incident and transported to the Wayne County Detention Center.
Vick has been charged with six counts of Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
He was placed under a $75,000 secured bond and was awaiting his first court appearance.
The Goldsboro Police Department said it remains committed to protecting children and holding those who exploit or victimize minors accountable. Officials credited the collaborative efforts of the SBI Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and its affiliate agencies with helping identify offenders and protect vulnerable children across North Carolina.
