GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Goldsboro man is facing multiple felony charges following a break-in at the Goldsboro Parks and Recreation building that resulted in the theft of a vehicle and other property, according to the Goldsboro Police Department.
Police said officers responded to the Goldsboro Parks and Recreation building, located at 1601 Peachtree St., at approximately 8:12 a.m. on June 30 after receiving a report of a break-in that had occurred earlier that morning.
Investigators determined that a vehicle and various other items had been stolen during the incident. The stolen vehicle, which was unoccupied, was recovered a short time later.
Later that afternoon, at approximately 3:50 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department’s Patrol A-Shift and the Investigative Services Bureau located 25-year-old Erik Jamell Hamilton at 2600 E. Ash St. Police said Hamilton was attempting to sell some of the stolen property when officers took him into custody without incident.
Hamilton, of Goldsboro, was charged with:
- Felony Breaking and/or Entering
- Felony Larceny
- Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle
- Felony Possession of Stolen Property
- Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense
Hamilton was placed under a $50,000 secured bond and was scheduled to make his first court appearance on July 1.
