GOLDSBORO, NC – City officials are asking residents and community stakeholders to help identify potential Brownfields properties that could benefit from future assessment and redevelopment efforts.
The City is encouraging public participation as part of its ongoing Brownfields Program initiative, which focuses on identifying underutilized or environmentally impacted properties that may be suitable for revitalization.
Officials say community input is an important step in understanding local concerns, identifying possible sites, and supporting future redevelopment opportunities aimed at improving public health, encouraging economic growth, and revitalizing neighborhoods.
Residents, property owners, business owners, and community stakeholders are invited to submit information on properties that may qualify for consideration through the program.
Examples of potential Brownfields properties include former industrial or manufacturing facilities, vacant or abandoned commercial properties, former gas stations or dry cleaners, and underutilized properties with known or suspected environmental concerns.
Public comments and property suggestions will help guide future assessment and redevelopment planning efforts throughout the community.
More information about the Brownfields Program, including how to submit comments or property suggestions, can be found at Goldsboro Brownfields Program.
