May 8, 2026, 75, Goldsboro – Douglas Bryant Weaver, age 75, passed away peacefully on Friday at his home. Born in Wayne County, NC, he was the son of the late Leslie Bryant Weaver and Rachel Carter Weaver. He was the owner and operator of Doug’s Body Shop.
Doug was a man of simple joys and steady routines. A true creature of habit, you could almost always find him enjoying breakfast or lunch at the hospital café or the Lantern Inn, and dinner at Dee’s Diner. Those familiar places and daily traditions brought him comfort and connection throughout the years.
To his family, he was lovingly known as “Papa,” a title he carried with pride. He had a deep passion for his body shop and the work he poured his heart into over the years. Before cancer changed so much, he spent many happy years serving as President of the Goldsboro Singles Club and as a member of the Shag Club, where he built lasting friendships and enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Doug is survived by his daughters, Rachel Woolard (Ray) and Mary Michael Britt (Allen); sister, Vickie Best (Danny); brother, Ronnie Weaver (Teresa); and grandchildren, Anna Bell(Austin), Macy Tillman (Ryan), Jackson, Brooklyn, Bella, Kate, Dennis, Lela Pearl, and Allie Presley.
Along with his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Bradford.
