May 7, 2026, 51, Goldsboro – Monica Zamora Leon, 51, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 7, 2026 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in San Antonio, TX, she was the daughter of Carlos Zamora Rodriguez and Estella Reyna Zamora. Monica was a retired hiring clerk and translator with Mt. Olive Pickle Company. She was a member of the St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Mt. Olive.
Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be held Monday, May 11, 2026, 10:00 a.m.at the St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Mt. Olive. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 10, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
Along with her parents, she is survived by her husband, Tomas Leon; her son, Esteban Leon; her daughters, Erica Leon and Juliana Leon; grandchildren, Magdalena Leon, Ezekiel Leon and Ivan Leon; sisters, Veronica Lopez & husband, Juan and Brenda Zamora Lopez & husband, Gabriel; brother, Carlos Zamora, Jr.
