GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Wayne Community College will celebrate its Spring 2026 curriculum graduates with two commencement ceremonies scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, at the Maxwell Center.
The first ceremony, set for 10 a.m., will recognize graduates from Allied Health and Arts & Sciences programs. Later in the day, at 2 p.m., students from Applied Technologies, Business & Computer Technologies, Public Safety, and Public Services will be honored.
This spring, a total of 569 students are expected to graduate, collectively earning 863 degrees, diplomas, and certificates—marking a significant milestone for both the students and the college.
Mario Lopez, president of the college’s Student Government Association, will deliver remarks on behalf of the graduating class. Lopez will graduate with an Associate in Science degree.
Both ceremonies are ticketed events, with each graduate receiving six tickets for guests. Those unable to attend in person can watch the ceremonies live via the college’s Facebook page.
College officials encourage anyone needing special accommodations to contact the Accessibility Counselor in advance to ensure arrangements can be made ahead of the ceremonies.
