April 30, 2026, 65, Goldsboro – Edwin Devohn Holland Sr. was born on January 25, 1961, to the late Ruth Holland and Lewis Greenfield. He departed this earthly life on April 30, 2026, surrounded by family at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He received his formal education at Goldsboro High School. He was employed at Franklin Baking Company as an Engineer Mechanic (Leadman) for 45 years with outstanding and dedicated services.
In 1976, through the introduction of his best friend Eric McCall, he met the love of his life where they were united in Holy Matrimony on June 3, 1983. Together they built a beautiful life of joy and happiness with his best friend, lover and life partner of 50 years. God blessed this beautiful union with two sons and one daughter.
Edwin grew up around White Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Pikeville, North Carolina. In 2010 he attended Cornerstone Gospel Tabernacle Ministries where he was ordained in the Office of Deacon. Later he became a faithful member of Perfecting God’s Word Healing Ministries Inc. serving under the leadership of his wife Apostle Lonice Holland. Edwin had a special love for fishing, traveling, grilling, yard and mobile maintenance along with spending time with family.
He was proceeded in death by his mother Ruth Holland Williams, father Lewis Greenfield, stepfather Willie M. Williams, two brothers Terry and Donald Holland and two sisters Justine and Annette Holland.
Edwin leaves to cherish his memory; his wife Lonice Holland of the Rosewood Community, Goldsboro, NC; two sons Edwin Devaris (Tara) Holland of Clayton NC, Eryse Domonique Holland of the Rosewood Community in Goldsboro, NC
One daughter Erica Latrice (Walter, deceased) Edmunds of the Rosewood Community, Goldsboro NC one grandson, Marquel Vaughn of whom he helped raise, four granddaughters; Julianna Holland, Mariah Holland, Camille Edmunds, and Caitlyn Edmunds, two great-grandsons Zayn King and Caleb Vaughn. Five sisters; Evelyn Hairston and Mary Brown, Phyllis Rawlings of Goldsboro NC, Charlene Wellington of Raleigh NC, and Edna (John) Thornton of Brooklyn, New York. One brother, Rashid Taymullah of Goldsboro, NC. Three sisters-in-laws Janice Holland-Hathaway, Annie Lee Cox Dawson and Pauline Cox. Seven brothers-in-laws Ronald (Linda) Cox, Kenneth (Willie Mae) Cox Sr., James Randy Cox Sr., John (Lisa) Cox, Eddie (Karen) Cox, Teddie Cox and Freddie Cox. One aunt Peggy Greenfield of Dudley, NC and two uncles Franklin Greenfield of Dudley, NC and Luther Greenfield of Beulaville, NC. Special nephew: Travis Holland & Two Special Godchildren: Keith Adams and Clarriessa Holloman; a myriad of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
