DUDLEY, NC – Emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash early Thursday morning on Ruskin Road in Dudley.
According to officials, firefighters from Dudley and an EMS unit were dispatched to the scene around 7:30 a.m. Upon arrival, crews found a vehicle that had run off the right side of the roadway while navigating a curve, ultimately crashing into several trees.
The driver, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation of injuries. The extent of those injuries is not yet known.
Firefighters remained on scene to manage traffic and ensure safety in the area while awaiting the arrival of the North Carolina Highway Patrol, which is expected to investigate the cause of the crash.
No additional vehicles were involved in the incident.
