WAYNE COUNTY, NC –Jessica Strickland, Agriculture Agent for Cooperative Extension in Wayne County, has announced the 2026 Spring Plant Sale, set for Saturday, April 25.
The popular annual event will run from 9 a.m. to noon and will be held next to the Farm Credit Farmers Market at 3114 Wayne Memorial Drive in Goldsboro. Organizers encourage attendees to arrive early for the best selection.
Shoppers can expect a wide variety of plants, all locally grown and carefully nurtured by the NC State Extension Master Gardeners of Wayne County. Offerings will include annuals, perennials, hanging basket combinations, herbs, and tomato and pepper transplants—perfect for spring planting.
Guests are encouraged to bring a wagon to carry their purchases, as the sale typically draws a large crowd and features a substantial selection of plants.
Only cash or check will be accepted at the event.
Proceeds from the sale will support local Extension gardening programs and help maintain the Discovery Gardens and Greenhouse, continuing educational outreach efforts throughout Wayne County.
