GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Top junior golfers from across the country and around the world competed in the third annual Visit Goldsboro NC Junior Championship hosted by the American Junior Golf Association at Lane Tree Golf Club, wrapping up three days of competitive play and impressive performances.
The 54-hole stroke play tournament featured 78 boys and girls ages 12–19, drawing elite junior golfers from across the United States and internationally. After three days of competition, Michael Vivone of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada captured first place in the boys division, finishing with an impressive 12-under-par.
Second place went to Jackson Renquist of Atlantic Beach, Florida, who finished at 10-under-par. Brady Barnum of Dublin, Ohio secured third place with an 8-under-par performance.
In the girls division, Keira Shavitrankruk of Orlando, Florida claimed first place, finishing at 9-under-par. Second place went to Juneo Taino of Pinehurst, North Carolina, who finished at 4-under-par.
Third place resulted in a tie at 1-under-par between Pikeville native Ella June Hannant and Kanchana Duangsam Rudd of Orlando, Florida.
Local interest remained strong throughout the tournament as Pikeville native Zada Hannant also competed, finishing the tournament at 10-over-par.
The tournament marked the third consecutive year the American Junior Golf Association has brought the championship to Goldsboro, further solidifying the area’s growing reputation as a destination for high-level junior golf competition.
The Visit Goldsboro NC Junior Championship continues to provide young athletes with opportunities for college recruitment, national exposure, and experience competing against top-tier talent — all while showcasing the Goldsboro community to visiting players and families.
