March 30, 2026, 77, Mount Olive – Arnold Ray Dixon, at the age of 77, passed from this life into the next early Monday morning, March 30, 2026, at his home with his loved ones at hand.
Arnold had been employed as a supervisor at Richards Supply Co. in Goldsboro, formerly Eastern Aluminum, prior to his decline in health. He had served in the United States Army, and was a lifelong resident of the Mount Olive area. Arnold attended the Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Myers Dixon, of the home; two sons and their wives, Jonathan Corey Dixon and Amanda Dixon, of Alaska, and Steven Arnold Dixon and Tonya Dixon, of Newport; three grandchildren, Sydney Dixon, Casey Dixon, and Micah Dixon; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Pansy Dixon, of Seven Springs; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Tony Daw, of Goldsboro; another sister-in-law, Sue M. Dixon, of Mount Olive, widow of deceased brother, Larry Dixon; numerous nieces and nephews; the Myers family; and a special friend and neighbor, Meriel B. Levy, of Mount Olive.
In addition to his brother, Larry, he was preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Rossie Wiggs Dixon; and a sister, Delores Jarman.
A service to remember the life of Arnold Dixon will be on Thursday, April 2, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home. His pastor, the Rev. Jeff Dail, will officiate. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home, and at other times, the family welcomes friends and loved ones to the residence. Committal and burial will be Friday, April 3, at 11 a.m. in Maplewood Cemetery.
While Arnold will be sorely missed, his family and friends take comfort in knowing his days of suffering have ended, he has been made new again, and he now abides in the presence of the Lord.
