WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — Two Wayne County men have been arrested following an investigation into multiple vehicle break-ins in the Rosewood community, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies assigned to Patrol Division A Shift responded on March 26, 2026, after receiving reports of several vehicles being broken into in the Rosewood community. During the investigation, deputies gathered evidence linking all of the incidents to the same two suspects.
Through coordinated efforts and investigative work, deputies identified and apprehended Zachery Hall, 20, of Emmaus Church Road, and John Wayne Carter, 19, of Old Smithfield Road. Authorities said both individuals were taken into custody without incident.
Hall and Carter were each charged with:
- Two counts of Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle
- Felony Conspiracy
Following their arrest, both suspects were transported to the Wayne County Magistrate’s Office, where they were formally charged and received no bond. They were subsequently placed in the Wayne County Detention Center pending further court proceedings.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reminds residents to lock their vehicles, remove valuables, and report any suspicious activity to help prevent similar incidents.
