LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. — A routine traffic stop by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes and Rapid Response (SCARR) Team led to the arrest of a Goldsboro man on narcotics charges earlier this week.
According to officials, the incident occurred on March 18, 2026, as deputies were traveling along Pauls Path Road near Kelly Road. Authorities say a red passenger vehicle crossed the center line and nearly struck a deputy head-on, prompting a traffic stop.

Officials reported discovering approximately 3.05 grams of fentanyl along with drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
Lewis was taken into custody and charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was transported to the Lenoir County Jail, where he was given a $200,000 secured bond.
