GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce has postponed its upcoming Wayne Education Summit that was scheduled for Monday due to the threat of inclement weather expected to impact the area.
Chamber officials announced the decision Sunday, citing safety concerns as forecasts call for potentially severe conditions.
“Due to the threat of inclement weather, we have made the decision to postpone the Wayne Education Summit,” the chamber said in a statement.
Organizers said a new date for the event will be announced at a later time and attendees are encouraged to watch for additional communication regarding the rescheduled summit.
The Wayne Education Summit typically brings together educators, community leaders, and business representatives to discuss important issues impacting education and workforce development in Wayne County.
The chamber thanked the community for its understanding as weather concerns prompted the change in plans.
