Wayne County, N.C. — A months-long sexual assault investigation that began in June 2025 has concluded with charges filed against a Goldsboro man, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators reported that multiple allegations were made against the suspect involving sexually inappropriate acts with a female juvenile. As the investigation progressed, law enforcement conducted forensic interviews and gathered additional investigative evidence that led to the issuance of arrest warrants.
The suspect, identified as Jesse Gray Crawford, 37, of U.S. 117 Highway North, Goldsboro, was taken into custody by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Squad without incident.
Crawford has been charged with one count of Indecent Liberties with a Child and was placed under a $20,000 secured bond.
Due to the sensitive nature of the case and the involvement of a juvenile, authorities stated that no further details will be released.
