October 29, 2026, 87, Goldsboro – Helen Davis Gonzales, 87, of Goldsboro departed this earthly life Thursday, October 29, 2026 at UNC Health Wayne surrounded by her family.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gonzales was born to the late James “Buddy” Davis and Lovely Whitfield Davis in Wayne County, North Carolina on February 20, 1939.
She leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Pedro Gonzales (Angela), James Earl Davis (Linda) and Pablo Gonzales; two daughters, Hellena Leonard (Charles) and Helen Gonzales (Chico); sixteen grandchildren; her great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Franklin Davis.
