A Life of Faith, Love, and Faithful Service
The Life and Legacy of Evangelist Patsy B. Taylor
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:21
Evangelist Patsy B. Taylor was born in Neptune, New Jersey, to the late Willie Bryant and Velena Darby. From the beginning of her life’s journey, she was destined to leave a lasting impression upon the hearts of those blessed to know her. She received her formal education through the Wayne County Public School System and proudly graduated from Dillard High School with the Class of 1969.
In 1967, Patsy met the love of her life, Boyland Ray Taylor. Their love blossomed into a beautiful union of marriage that endured for more than 43 years. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, devotion, cherished memories, and a commitment to serving God. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and faithfulness. Additionally, she and Apostle Taylor were the founders of HilltopDeliverance Ministries in Goldsboro, NC.
Believing that education was a lifelong pursuit, Evangelist Taylor continued her academic journey through Wayne Community College and Argosy University. She later earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration through her studies in Mount Olive, North Carolina.
Her desire to grow in the knowledge and understanding of God’s Word also led her to North Carolina Theological Seminary, where she earned an Associate degree in Biblical Studies. Her educational accomplishments reflected her determination, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to personal and spiritual growth.
Above all, Evangelist Taylor was a woman who loved the Lord. Her Christian walk was not merely something she professed but something she demonstrated through her daily living. She possessed a sincere passion for ministry and a heart for reaching souls. She was truly a fisher of men, women, boys, and girls, always seeking opportunities to share God’s goodness, offer encouragement, and lead others closer to Christ.
Interestingly, her love for fishing extended beyond the spiritual realm. She also enjoyed spending time fishing, finding pleasure in the simple joys of life. Whether casting a line into the water or extending a helping hand to someone in need,
Evangelist Taylor approached life with faith, patience, and a generous spirit.
She was a woman of many talents and remarkable creativity. An excellent seamstress, Evangelist Taylor lovingly used her God-given abilities to create beautiful garments, especially clergy robes, which she often presented as gifts to ministers and other members of the clergy. These thoughtful expressions of love reflected her giving heart and her deep respect for those called into ministry.
She also found great enjoyment in arts and crafts, cooking, and baking. Through these gifts, she brought warmth, happiness, and blessings to countless lives. Yet, among all the activities she enjoyed, nothing brought her greater joy than being in the house of the Lord. Worship, fellowship, and serving God’s people were among the greatest treasures of her heart.
Evangelist Taylor was a woman whose life spoke of compassion, generosity, and steadfast faith. She believed in sharing what she had, giving from her heart, and being a blessing wherever God placed her. Her presence was a source of encouragement, and her legacy of service will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
In addition to her beloved husband, Apostle Boyland Ray Taylor, Evangelist Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Bryant and Velena Darby; and her brother, William Darby.
She leaves a beautiful legacy of love and treasured memories to her devoted son, Terry Taylor; one brother, Hughes W. Bryant; one sister, Loraine Alls; two beloved grandchildren, Jasmine Taylor and Dexter Taylor; and four precious great-grandchildren.
She also leaves to cherish her memory a very special adopted daughter, Co-Pastor Diana Edwards; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives, and dear friends; along with her beloved Holy Temple Church family, who shared in her spiritual journey and held a special place in her heart.
Although her earthly presence will be deeply missed, the seeds of faith she planted, the love she freely shared, and the lives she touched will remain a lasting testament to a life well lived. Her labor of love was not in vain, and her influence will continue to be felt through the generations blessed by her example.
Evangelist Patsy B. Taylor lived a life of purpose, walked by faith, served with compassion, and loved without reservation. Her earthly assignment may be complete, but her legacy of faith and love shall live on forever.
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” — 2
