October 8, 2026, 58, Goldsboro-Waanpen Dee “Pear” Richardson, 58, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh. Born on Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska on November 19, 1967, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Richardson and Sribenja Kunchorn Richardson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Thomas Alan Smith.
Pear is survived by her life partner of over 40 years, Adrian K. Pridgen; sisters, Kanthima “Apple” Smith and husband, Jeff Smith and Silee “Peachie” Richardson and husband, Kenny Dail; step-father, Bryan Glasnapp; nieces; Grace and Alyssa; and nephews, Zachery, Matthew, and Tommy-Lee.
Pear lived a life full of color, warmth, and a little extra spice. She had a special love for raising dogs, tending to her plants, cooking, and expressing her creativity through oil painting. Blessed with a green thumb, she found joy in nurturing her plants and watching them flourish, just as she brought her own unique beauty and spirit into the lives of those around her.
A talented artist, Pear had an eye for beauty and a creative soul that shone through her oil paintings. Whether she was caring for her beloved dogs, working among her plants, or preparing something delicious in the kitchen, she found happiness in the things she loved most.
Pear also had a particular fondness for extremely spicy Thai food, a fitting reflection of her own spirited personality. Much like the bold flavors she enjoyed, Pear lived life with spice, character, and a zest that made her unmistakably herself. She embraced life in her own way, bringing her individuality and passion to the things that mattered most to her.
A service to celebrate Pear’s life will be held at a later date.
