October 11, 2026, 73, Mt. Olive – Rosanne Taylor Jones, 73, transitioned to her Heavenly home with her Lord late Sunday evening at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville. She is survived by her devoted husband of almost fifty years, Bernard Jones; her daughter Nikki J. Wood and her husband Albert of Mount Olive; and her son, Taylor Jones and his wife Heather of Magnolia; she is also survived by her grandchildren in which each one held a special place in her heart; Logan, Gracie, Beckett and Everett; a sister Teresa Woods of Greenville; and two special cousins, Dan Seymour and Patsy Seymour.
Rosanne was preceded in death by her parents; Brinkley Harold Taylor, and Thelma Brock.
Rosanne was known for her love of her family first and foremost. From taking care of the home, her and Bernard built together, to being involved in ever area of her grandchildren’s lives were always most important. Being present and supportive for their achievements was important to her. Rosanne spent much of her career as a Dental Assistant before moving to the preschool at Spring Creek Baptist Church. She loved helping the children there and being sure each and every child was cared for and shown the love of Jesus too. Caning and preserving anything from the garden were her specialty, and always made sure they would have enough to last through the season. She and Bernard loved to travel with friends, and would head out on the camper at a moments notice. In her earlier years she had led the Girl Scouts, and helped James Keenan as Bookkeeper. She and Bernard both had attended and faithfully supported Spring Creek Baptist Church in Seven Springs, but had recently been attending Dobson’s Chapel Baptist Church in Magnolia with their son’s family while her health permitted.
A Graveside service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, October 16, at 11 o’clock in the morning at Wayne Memorial Park, Dudley. Long-time family friend, Rev. Michael “Mickey” Whitfield will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8pm, and at other times at the home located on Garner Chapel Road.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Blue Knights International Club, Chapter 12, c/o Albert Wood, 647 Garner Chapel Road, Mount Olive, NC 28365.
