WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — A Dudley woman is facing charges following an investigation into an alleged assault involving a child, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
In July 2026, the Wayne County Department of Child Protective Services contacted the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office regarding an alleged assault involving a child. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit were assigned the case and began an investigation.
Following the investigation, Jasmine Soria, 29, of Eagles Nest Road in Dudley, was arrested on September 16.
Soria was charged with Assault on a Child Under 12 and Assault by Strangulation.
She was given a $70,000 secured bond.
The charges are allegations, and Soria is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
