GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The Wayne County Veterans and Patriots Coalition will hold its annual Wayne County Stand Down on Thursday, Oct. 8, offering free assistance and resources to homeless and at-risk veterans in the community.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wayne County Veterans Services Office, 2001 E. Ash Street in Goldsboro.
Organizers say the Stand Down is designed to connect veterans with services that can help address immediate needs while providing longer-term support.
Services available during the event will include housing assistance, employment services, VA benefits support, health and wellness resources, barber services and community support.
Veterans attending the event are asked to bring one form of identification for admission. Accepted documents include a VA ID card, DoD ID card, DD Form 214, or a state ID or driver’s license showing veteran status.
The event is sponsored by the Wayne County Veterans and Patriots Coalition and NCWorks under the message, “No Veteran Stands Alone.”
