GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Five people were displaced Friday morning after a fire damaged a home on Livius Court in Goldsboro.
According to the Goldsboro Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire at 104 Livius Court at 6:37 a.m. on Sept. 25. Crews arrived at 6:42 a.m. and found smoke and flames visible from above the garage.
Six fire units and 17 personnel responded to the scene. Firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack and brought the blaze under control at 7:07 a.m.
No injuries were reported among the home’s occupants or responding firefighters.
Five people were displaced by the fire and are receiving assistance from the Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Fire officials determined the cause of the fire was a juvenile playing with a lighter.
Wayne County EMS also assisted at the scene, and Duke Energy Progress was called to secure electrical power to the residence.
