September 8, 2026, 68, – Patricia “Trish” Lucille Jardine, 68, passed away at Wayne UNC Healthcare on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Born in Portsmouth, Virginia on May 22, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Jardine and Virginia “Gina” Allen-Jardine, both U.S. Navy servicemen.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved canine companions, Lady and Rebel; and feline friend Mr. PIB “Pibby”.
Patricia is survived by her children, Jessica Kodary (Yoni), Jennifer Acevedo, and John Acevedo (Angelica); brother, Rocky Jardine; sister, Kathy Jardine; Partner, Ed Hudson; and nieces and nephews, Kristin Jardine, Jason Jardine, Linn Jardine Torgersen, and Tony Torgersen. Patricia is also survived by her special canine companion, Harley, and feline friend, Batman.
Patricia dedicated many years of her career to the United States Postal Service, where she was known for her reliability,
warmth, and the friendships she built amongst her coworkers. She took pride in her work and in the countless small connections she made with the people she served day after day.
Outside of work, Patricia was a woman who knew how to enjoy life. She was an avid billiards player, always ready for a game and rarely one to back down from a challenge. She loved the beach, where she could often be found soaking up the sun and working on her tan. She was also a devoted member of her local YMCA community, where she cherished the friendships she built and the time spent with the people she came to know there, especially in the pool.
Patricia had a deep love for animals, and her compassion for every creature she met was evident to anyone who knew her. She had a gift for laughter — her sense of humor and easy smile lit up every room she entered, and she brought joy to everyone lucky enough to spend time with her.
Patricia will be laid to rest on Tuesday, September 15th in Miami, FL, near her late parents and grandparents. Visitation will be held at Maspons Funeral Home of Miami from 11:00am – 1:30pm, with burial to follow at 2:00pm at Flagler Memorial Park.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home of Goldsboro, NC, and Maspons Funeral Home of Miami, FL.
