August 22, 2026, 84, Goldsboro-Donna Stancil Hales, 84, went home to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 22, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family at Willow Creek Nursing and Rehab Center.
Donna was born and raised in Rocky Mount, NC to the late Jean and Howard Stancil. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Rusty Stancil. She will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, and faithful friend whose life was defined by love for her family and faith in her Savior. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church.
Donna is survived by her beloved husband, Irvin Hales, who was the love of her life and best friend for 63 years; sons, Robert Hales, Brian Hales, and Randy Hales (Mari); daughter, Melissa Cannon (Adam); grandchildren, Ashley Hales, Taylor Hales, Christopher Hales, Michael Cannon, and Samantha Cannon; great-granddaughter, Mariah Huffman; sisters, Grace Johnson (David) and Martha Sewell (Tommy); brother-in-law, Gene Hales; sisters-in-law, Rose Hales, Marie Davis, and Grace Adams; and other extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.
A service to celebrate Donna’s life will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Willow Creek Nursing and Rehab Center for the care they provided to Donna and her family during her time there.
