GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The 2026 high school football season is underway, with Mother Nature forcing most area teams to get an early start this week.
Many games were moved from Friday to Thursday due to the threat of severe weather, including this week’s Pittman Agner Law High School Football Game of the Week, featuring the Charles B. Aycock Golden Falcons and Rosewood Eagles.
The matchup marked the 45th and final installment of the Little River Rivalry, bringing an end to a longtime Wayne County football tradition.
Charles B. Aycock made sure the final chapter belonged to the Golden Falcons, defeating Rosewood 20-0.
The victory gives C.B. Aycock bragging rights in the final meeting between the two rivals as both teams begin their 2026 campaigns.
