GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A 17-year-old Goldsboro male has been charged with two counts of murder following a shooting that left two 20-year-old men dead Saturday evening.
According to the Goldsboro Police Department, officers responded to 607 W. Oak St. at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, after receiving a report that two people had been shot.
When officers arrived, they found two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel responded and pronounced both men dead at the scene.
Police identified the victims as Nasire Green, 20, of Goldsboro, and Tristen Mason, 20, of Dudley.
The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigations Division and Crime Scene Unit were called to the scene to investigate.
During the investigation, police said detectives developed a suspect, identified only as a 17-year-old male from Goldsboro. The juvenile was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect has been charged with two counts of murder and two counts of felony conspiracy. He was served with the warrants and placed in the custody of the Pitt Regional Juvenile Detention Center. He is being held without bond.
