GOLDSBORO, NC – A ShotSpotter alert in Goldsboro has led to the arrest of two men now facing multiple felony firearm charges following an investigation by the Goldsboro Police Department.
According to police, officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the 800 block of East End Circle at approximately 1 a.m. on July 23, 2026. Detectives with the Goldsboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division launched an investigation that identified Jaimear Tyshawn Lofton, 18, of Goldsboro, and Jaimear Tyshawn Lofton 20, of Garner, as suspects.
Investigators obtained warrants charging both men with five counts of Discharging a Weapon into Occupied Property, a felony, along with one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, also a felony, and one count of Discharging a Firearm Within City Limits, a misdemeanor.
On July 30, members of the Goldsboro Police Department’s Emergency Response Team and Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Charles Street, where Lofton was taken into custody without incident.
Maye was later served with the outstanding warrants by the Wake County Sheriff’s Office.
Both Lofton and Maye are being held without bond.
