July 21, 2026, 69, Goldsboro – Samuel Thurman Jackson, 69, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, July 21, 2026, just five days before his 70th birthday. Sam was born in Wayne County on July 26, 1956, to the late Thurman and Ruby Brown Jackson.
Sam will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his residence, 108 Raven Ridge Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27530. A service to celebrate Sam’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Toler officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife of over 48 years, Kathy Paulette Jackson. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Amanda (Mandy) Jackson Carroll and husband, Thomas, and April Jackson Brantham and husband, Clint; his cherished grandchildren, Brianna Rowe and husband, Tyler, Sarah Gerow and husband, Trevor, Johnathon Carroll, Cooper Brantham, and Samuel Brantham; his greatest joys, his great-grandchildren, Kaysleigh Ellison Rowe and Jaxon Thomas Rowe; and the impending arrival of the family’s newest addition, Waylen James Gerow, in just a few weeks.
He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Julie Jackson; his sister and brother-in-law, Penny and Dallas Jordan; his special cousin, Teresa Brown, who helped so much throughout his illness; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff of the ICU at UNC Wayne Health Care.
