GOLDSBORO, NC — As classrooms prepare to welcome students back for a new school year, Goldsboro Daily News and Curtis Media Group are giving local educators something to smile about with the launch of the Bright Future Back to School Contest.
The community-wide promotion celebrates the dedication, optimism, and lasting impact teachers have on the lives of their students. Rather than focusing on school supplies, the contest shines a spotlight on the educators who inspire the next generation every day.
Teachers employed by public, private, and charter schools in Wayne County and surrounding communities are invited to enter by visiting GoldsboroDailyNews.com and answering one simple question:
“Why is your future—and the future of your students—looking bright for the 2026-2027 school year?”
Entries will be accepted through August 13, with one deserving teacher selected to receive an impressive prize package valued at more than $1,500. The winner will be announced on August 14.
The prize package has been made possible through the generosity of local businesses and organizations committed to supporting education and recognizing the important work teachers do throughout the year.

The promotion is sponsored by Curtis Media Group’s Goldsboro radio stations—WGBR 1150/98.3 FM, 97.7 Katie Country, 92.7 Jamz, La Ley, and Goldsboro Daily News.
