July 11, 2026, 93, Pikeville – Ruth Christine Howell Chase, 93, of Pikeville, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love and devotion of her family.
After a life beautifully lived in faith, kindness, and unwavering love, Ruth answered Heaven’s call, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. She was a gentle soul whose life reflected God’s love through her compassion, strength, and servant’s heart. Her greatest joy was found in her family, whom she loved wholeheartedly, and in the countless blessings the Lord bestowed upon her throughout her journey.
Above all, Ruth treasured the love she shared with her beloved husband and soulmate, Herman Dale Chase. Their life together was a beautiful testimony of enduring love, faithfulness, and God’s perfect plan. Through every season of life, they walked hand in hand, trusting the Lord and building a home filled with love, grace, and cherished memories.
Though her earthly journey has ended, her heavenly one has just begun. We rejoice knowing she has exchanged the cares of this world for the peace and glory of Heaven, where she now rests in the loving arms of Jesus. While her family grieves her absence, they find comfort in God’s promise that those who trust in Him shall live forever.
Ruth was born in Wayne County on April 8, 1933 to the late Tom and Sudie Harrison Howell. Her son, Danny Chase also preceded her in death.
Those left to cherish her precious memory, include her loving husband and soulmate of 76 years, Dale Chase; her son, Gary Chase and wife, Susie; her daughter, Syble Chase Coley and husband, Durrell; daughter-in-law, Connie Chase; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, who will forever hold her love in their hearts and continue the legacy of faith she so faithfully lived.
