July 6, 2026, 61, Goldsboro – Tracy Leo Green, 61, passed away on July 6, 2026, at Genesis Health Care. He was born in Wayne County on May 14, 1965 and was the son of the late Billy A. Green and Lillian Carol T. Green. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lillian T. Radabaugh, (Paul); Leo F. Talton (Mattie); William M. Green and Donna M. Green
He was a graduate of Charles B. Aycock H.S. class of 1983. Tracy worked at Barry Manufacturing until its closure. He became a Healthcare Technician with Cherry Hospital, and completing his state service with becoming a Corrections Officer with Central Prison in Raleigh. He enjoyed helping individuals with special needs and would help provide outings for clients around Wayne County. Tracy attended Church Alive in Pikeville, N.C. until his health declined.
Tracy was known for his joking manner, and he never knew a stranger. You could find Tracy at the baseball and football fields, and basketball courts cheering on his favorite teams. He was a huge sports fan and supported his beloved North Carolina Tarheels from a very early age. As a younger child, he would join in playing all sports that would be happening in the backyards of the Stoney Creek neighborhood “gang”. He also loved supporting his alma mater, Charles B. Aycock H.S. in their sports curriculums, along with other local area sporting events around the eastern part of the state. Introduced to wrestling at an early age, from his grandmother,“Granny Lil”, wrestling became an all time favorite sport and he would also be seen at local matches supporting his favorite wrestlers. He was the number one fan for Vinnie Damoochie. He had an incredible memory and could recite sports facts that most would never remember. Family and friends were always a bright light in his life. He loved all of his family members and always enjoyed family gatherings.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. in the Pikeville Cemetery with Rev. Danny Rollins officiating.
Tracy is survived by his siblings, sister, Penny G. Withrow, and husband Chris; brother, Autry H. Green, and wife, Frances; nephews, Graham Withrow, Austin Green, and niece, Tristin Green. Aunts, Margaret Ann Talton, Ethel Green, and Kimberly T. Craig, and husband Ryan; uncles, William E. Green, and wife Barbara, Robert “Bob” Ferrell; and numerous cousins he loved and a special life-long friend, Daniel “Danny” Rollins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Church Alive, 470 Hinnant Road, Pikeville, North Carolina 27863.
