WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — Spring Creek High School graduate Sarah Gurley has been named the 2026 recipient of the Jack E. Kannan Arts Education Scholarship.
The scholarship was established to recognize a graduating high school senior who exemplifies the values, character and passion for the arts embodied by Jack E. Kannan.
Gurley was presented with the scholarship during the opening reception for “human / nature,” the Main Gallery Exhibition at the Arts Council of Wayne County this month.
A recent graduate of Spring Creek High School, Gurley will attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she plans to major in Dramatic Arts and minor in Musical Theatre.
The Jack E. Kannan Arts Education Scholarship is made possible through the generous support of the Kannan family and friends of the Arts Council of Wayne County, helping invest in the next generation of artists and arts advocates.
