GOLDSBORO, NC – Goldsboro Police have arrested a 60-year-old Goldsboro man in connection with an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile.
According to the Goldsboro Police Department, officers received a report on May 17, 2026, regarding the statutory rape of a juvenile female. Detectives launched an investigation, which ultimately identified Robert Doyle Phillips as the suspect.
On July 9, 2026, Phillips was arrested and appeared before a magistrate, where bond was denied pending his first court appearance.
Phillips has been charged with:
- Four counts of Statutory Rape
- Eighteen counts of Statutory Sexual Offense
The victim is identified only as a juvenile female from Goldsboro. Authorities are withholding additional information to protect the victim’s identity.
As with all criminal cases, the charges against Phillips are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
