July 4, 2026, 81, Goldsboro – Carol Corrieri Wilson Fields went to be with her Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of July 4, 2026. She left us unexpectedly and heartbroken at her passing.
Carol was born Nancy Carol Corrieri to her parents, W.J. “Bill” Corrieri Sr. and Nannie Gardner Corrieri on August 31, 1944. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, W.J. Corrieri, Jr. “Billy” and her husband, Bobby Harrell Fields.
Carol graduated from Goldsboro High School with the Class of 1962 before earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Bob Jones University. She taught school at Goldsboro Christian School before marrying a U.S. Air Force Captain and traveling the United States. After returning to Goldsboro, she worked with her mother at Second Baptist Church Daycare. Carol then worked and retired from the Wayne County Department of Social Services in the Child Support Division. She cared for her mother faithfully for many years. After many years of love and devotion, she married Bobby Harrell Fields. Together, they shared a beautiful bond and would have celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary this June. Bobby passed away just five months earlier.
Carol was a very kindhearted person that loved her family and spending time with them. She and her mother were close, and her mother’s sisters, Sue G. Williams and Joyce G. Sasser were more like sisters to Carol. Many happy hours were spent shopping, traveling, and laughing. She loved and was loved by her brother Bill, and sister Connie. They shared a special bond. Her daughter Lisa was her “right arm” in everyday life and just for being together to hang out. Carol and her son, Kevin shared a love of baseball and enjoyed watching and going to see the Houston Astros play.
Carol leaves many fond memories to her son Kevin and his wife Sony, their children (Nathan and Ava); daughter, Lisa Carol Wilson; sister Connie and Husband Keith; sister Cathy C. Cooke. She loved her nieces and nephews like “extra” grandchildren; nieces Amanda H. Velie (James) and (children Conner and Callen); Catherine K. Cooke; nephews Bradley Hill (Hannah) and (children Braxton K. Hill, Nolan J. Hill), Jeffrey H. Cooke Jr; sister-in-law, Joyce I. Corrieri; close aunts, Sue G. Williams, and Joyce (Cordell) Sasser. She also had many special cousins.
A service to celebrate Carol’s life will be at 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
