July 2, 2026, 64, Goldsboro – Vicky Lynn Gardner Stafford, 64, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Willow Creek Nursing Home.
Born in Wayne County on August 24, 1961, Vicky was the daughter of the late John Carter Gardner and Esther Bartlett Gardner.
Vicky had a gentle heart and a special love for children. She spent many years working in childcare, where she found great joy in nurturing and caring for the little ones entrusted to her. Her kindness and patient spirit made a lasting impression on the many children and families whose lives she touched.
One of Vicky’s favorite places was the beach. Whether listening to the waves, feeling the ocean breeze, or simply taking in the beauty of the shoreline, she found peace, comfort, and happiness by the water.
A service to celebrate Vicky’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Weaver and Rev. Eddie Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Vicky leaves behind her beloved son, Brandon Stafford; her sisters, Debbie Pope and husband, Roger, and Amanda Capps and husband, Billy; her brother, Timothy Gardner and wife, Teresa; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Vicky’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
