WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — Wayne County is preparing for one of its biggest Independence Day celebrations ever as Fireworks Over Wayne returns on Friday, July 4, with an evening packed full of live entertainment, family activities, food, and a fireworks spectacular honoring America’s 250th Anniversary.
Festivities begin at 4 p.m., when the event grounds open with attractions for all ages. Visitors can explore a tractor show, car show, browse more than 60 vendors, enjoy offerings from more than 15 food trucks, and spend time in the Family Zone featuring activities for children.
Live entertainment will continue throughout the evening on multiple stages.
The Pavilion Stage opens with Matt Livingston at 4 p.m., while the Main Stage features Wood & Steel at 5:05 p.m., followed by 581 South at 6:30 p.m. and Zack Lee at 7:55 p.m.
Thrill-seekers can catch the First Place BMX Stunt Show, with performances scheduled at 5:50 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
At 8:40 p.m., attendees will gather for patriotic remarks, the presentation of the colors, and the National Anthem before the evening concludes with a spectacular fireworks display at 9 p.m.
The celebration commemorates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, honoring the nation’s history while bringing the Wayne County community together for an evening of patriotic celebration.
The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce encourage attendees to arrive early to enjoy all the attractions, entertainment, food, and family-friendly activities before the fireworks light up the night sky.
