GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Goldsboro man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery reported last month on South Pineview Avenue, according to the Goldsboro Police Department.
The robbery occurred on June 12 at approximately 10:41 p.m., when officers responded to a reported armed robbery at 501 S. Pineview Ave. Detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigations Division took over the investigation.
Following weeks of investigative work, detectives identified Demetrius Montray Kornegay, 42, of Goldsboro, as the suspect.
Police obtained warrants for Kornegay’s arrest, and he was later located and taken into custody without incident by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Kornegay has been charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
The Goldsboro Police Department has not released additional details about the robbery or the circumstances that led to Kornegay being identified as the suspect.
