June 26, 2026, 71, Goldsboro – Jeannette Walker Capps, 71, went to be with her Lord on Friday, June 26, 2026, while receiving care at ECU Health in Greenville.
Born in Tennessee on March 5, 1955, Jeannette was the daughter of Roy Gleason and the late Wilma Jackson. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her step-son, Ojay Capps, and her brother, Vernon Cutway.
Jeannette dedicated many years of service to Cherry Hospital, where she worked in the Medical Records Department. She was a faithful member of Zion Methodist Church and cherished the time she spent at White Lake, where she faithfully attended worship services at Clearwater Chapel.
She found joy in line dancing and especially loved being around children. Above all, Jeannette treasured the time she shared with her family. Whether gathered with her children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren, those moments brought her the greatest happiness. She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, a caring mama, and a proud grandmama.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Jeannette’s life will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Doug Johnson officiating. A private interment will be held on Sunday at the Walker Family Cemetery.

Capps; her daughter, Robin Jeannette Walker and husband, Keith Plummer; her son, Robert Roy Walker; her grandchildren, Zackery Plummer, Madison Plummer, Austin Walker, Blake Capps, Braxton Capps, Tatum Walker, and Avery Walker; and her great-grandchildren, Alysen Flemming, Conner Capps, and Myah Mendoza.
