DUDLEY, NC — Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle head-on collision Thursday afternoon on Emmaus Church Road near Dudley.
According to Dudley firefighters, crews were dispatched along with Wayne County EMS at approximately 1 p.m. to the scene of the crash in the 1300 block of Emmaus Church Road.
When first responders arrived, they found a white pickup truck and a white passenger car off the roadway at the edge of a field. Both vehicles had sustained damage as a result of the collision.
The drivers of both vehicles were transported to UNC Health Wayne for evaluation and treatment of their injuries. The extent of those injuries was not immediately available.
Firefighters established traffic control around the crash scene to allow emergency personnel to work safely and to assist with the ongoing investigation.
A deputy with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and a North Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper arrived on the scene shortly after the crash occurred.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the collision.
