June 16, 2026, 69, Goldsboro – Sherry Grimes Colie, 69, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at her home.
Born in Wayne County on January 5, 1957, Sherry was the daughter of the late John David “Toby” Grimes and Willie Clyde Weaver Grimes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Toby Lee Grimes.
Sherry lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, and an unwavering love for those around her. She dedicated many years of service as an administrator with Professional Nursing Services, where her caring nature and commitment to helping others touched countless lives.
A true animal lover, Sherry never turned away a creature in need. Whether rescuing, nurturing, or simply offering a gentle hand, she had a special place in her heart for animals and found joy in caring for them. She also took great pride in her yard, where her hard work and love for nature were evident in every season. A warm cup of coffee often accompanied her quiet moments, providing comfort as she enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.
Above all else, Sherry treasured her family. Her greatest joy was found in the laughter, accomplishments, and presence of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose love knew no bounds. The memories she created and the love she shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
