WAYNE CUNTY, NC – Residents in both Mount Olive and Goldsboro should be aware of holiday-related office closures and service schedule adjustments as local governments observe Juneteenth on Friday, June 19.
The Town of Mount Olive announced that all town offices will be closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of the federal holiday. Offices will reopen on Monday, June 22, at 8 a.m.
Despite the office closure, household garbage collection in Mount Olive will remain on its regular schedule.
The town’s Recyclable Center will be closed on Saturday, June 20, and will reopen on Tuesday, June 23, at 8 a.m.
Town officials noted that residents experiencing a water or sewer emergency during the holiday closure should call 919-658-5031 and select Option 0 to be connected with non-emergency dispatch for assistance.
Meanwhile, the City of Goldsboro also announced that city offices will be closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.
Goldsboro residents should note a change to solid waste collection services. The city’s regular Friday solid waste route will be collected early on Wednesday, June 17.
Officials encourage residents to plan accordingly and thank the community for its cooperation during the holiday observance.
