MOUNT OLIVE, NC — The Town of Mount Olive has announced a temporary road closure on a portion of John Street as crews work to install sewer services as part of the town’s ongoing Sewer Collections Rehabilitation Grant project.
According to town officials, John Street between Martin Street and Wooten Street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 10, June 11, June 12, June 15, and June 16.
The temporary closure is necessary to allow contractors to safely complete sewer service installations associated with the rehabilitation project, which is designed to improve and modernize portions of the town’s wastewater collection system.
While through traffic will be restricted during construction hours, town officials noted that residents living within the affected area will continue to have access to their homes throughout the project.
Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes and exercise caution when traveling near the work zone. Delays may occur during construction hours.
Town officials appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as infrastructure improvements are completed to enhance the reliability and efficiency of Mount Olive’s sewer system.
