MOUNT OLIVE, NC — Motorists are advised to plan for temporary road closures on a portion of Oliver Street as work continues on a sewer infrastructure improvement project in the town.
Town officials announced that Oliver Street between Nelson Street and Silver Street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 4, June 5, June 8, and June 9. The temporary closure is necessary to allow crews to install sewer services as part of the Sewer Collections Rehabilitation Grant project.
The work is aimed at improving the town’s sewer collection system and enhancing the reliability of wastewater services for residents and businesses.
While through traffic will be restricted during construction hours, officials noted that residents living within the affected area will continue to have access to their homes throughout the project.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible and exercise caution when traveling near the work zone.
Town officials appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as these infrastructure improvements are completed.
