May 27, 2026, 55, Seven Springs – Christina Carter Petit, 55, exchanged the troubles and sickness of this world for the embrace of her Savior on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Christina was born in Lenoir County to the late Junior Carter and Joan Carter on August 19, 1970.
Working as a teacher’s assistant with Howell’s Childcare Center, Christina was deeply devoted to her clients, loving them as if they were her own family. Each of them held a fond place in her heart, and she truly cared for them deeply.
With a great love for her family, Christina’s happiest moments were spent at home in the presence of her children. A huge wrestling fan, she was excited to spend her 55th birthday with her daughters at a wrestling event as a surprise for her birthday. While she loved being at home, she was always up for a night out at McDonalds, Taco Bell, or WAFU with her family or her “adopted sister”, Crystal.
Incredibly talented with diamond art, Christina created beautiful masterpieces that she shared with her family. For each, she found something special in their life and re-created it in diamond art form, creating works of art they will forever treasure.
Christina’s love for her family was surpassed only in her love for the Lord. Professing her faith in Jesus Christ, Christina was an active and lifelong member of the La Grange Church of God, and accepted Jesus as her Savior last year.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Christina’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026 at the La Grange Church of God. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00 until 6:45 p.m.
Christina is survived by her children, Mary Pritchette (Jonathan) and Mackenzie Petit; granddaughter, Millie; siblings, Dinah Benson (JC), Patrick Carter, Amy Scott (Jim), and Kim Carter; adopted sister, Crystal Wooten; aunt, Marie Carter; uncle, Bud Smith; niece, Danielle Scott; nephews, David Carter and Michael Carter; great-nephew, Aiden; her special client, Vanessa; along with her grand-dog and grand-cat, Gypsy and Sparkle.
