May 26, 2026, 77, Goldsboro – Robert “Bob” Edward Puzzo, 77, passed away at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Born on February 4, 1949, he was the son of the late Andrew Puzzo and Helen Tylutki.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Musso; and uncles, Lou Base and Edward Barszczewski.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Pat Puzzo; daughters, Jessica Bowman (David), Catherine Veronee (Thomas), and Angela Beasley (Jacob); grandchildren, Andrew Veronee, Grayson Veronee, Elizabeth Bowman, and Margaret Bowman; and siblings, Rick Puzzo and Tina Puzzo. Bob is also survived by many extended family members that he loved.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 24 years as an engineer and airplane mechanic, specializing in tanker aircraft. A proud Vietnam Veteran, he dedicated much of his life to serving others with honor, skill, and unwavering commitment. Following his military retirement, Bob continued his strong work ethic at Franklin Bakery, where he faithfully worked for 17 years before retiring.
Bob was a man who never sat still. If something needed fixing, he could repair it. He was happiest with a project in his hands, working around the house, cutting grass, or spending time in his yard making everything just right. He had a sharp mind and a deep appreciation for history, often found watching the History Channel and learning something new. He also enjoyed good fresh seafood and simple moments spent with those he loved most.
Above all else, Bob cherished his family. Time spent with them brought him the greatest joy, and his steady presence, wisdom, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Though his earthly work is complete, the memories he created and the love he shared will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
A service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 11 a.m. at The First Church with Pastor Bill Rose presiding. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Interment services will full military honors will be held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton.
