May 22, 2026, 29, Seven Springs – Mike Anthony Castillo, 29, resident of the Seven Springs area, passed away early Friday morning, May 22, 2026, at Duke Hospital in Durham.
Mike was born in Harlingen, Texas. He had been employed as a forklift operator at Bay Valley Foods in Faison.
His immediate family all lives in the Seven Springs area and they include his son, Donvan Castillo; his mother, Margarita Rivas Castillo; his father, Gustavo Basaldua; his six siblings, Mariam Rivas, Arturo Castillo, Randy Lee Castillo, Merilyn Hernandez, Kaylee Hernandez, and Joshua Hernandez; his lady-friend and companion, Crystal Luna; several nieces and nephews; his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A viewing and wake will be at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive on Tuesday, May 26, between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be said on Wednesday, May 27, at 3:00 p.m. at Maria Reina de las Americas Catholic Church, 636 Whitfield Road, Mount Olive. Presiding will be Father Guillermo. Burial will follow in the Pineview Cemetery, Seven Springs.
