May 21, 2026, 74, Fremont – Clark Sterling Howell Sr., 74, of Fremont departed this earthly life Thursday, May 21, 2026 at his home.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. A graveside service will immediately follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.
Mr. Howell was born in Wayne County on December 8, 1951 to the late Lloyd Carl and Doris Sauls Howell. He was retired from DuPont.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judi Tarlton Howell; one son, Clark Sterling Howell II of Virginia; one brother, Bobby Howell and wife, Terry of Fremont; one sister, Jeanette Sasser and husband, Larry of Nahunta; his special canine companion, Valley and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Victor Howell and Gene Howell and his beloved cat, Gabby.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to his caregivers, Meghan Brown, Angela Jones, Angie Tucker and also to Gayle Hall who recently passed away for the amazing love and care they provided.
