GOLDSBORO, NC – A Goldsboro man is facing multiple felony charges following an investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation into online child sexual exploitation.
According to authorities, on May 22, 2026, investigators arrested Paul Eugene Bennett and charged him with 10 counts of Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
Investigators executed a search warrant at a residence located on Wolf Lane in Goldsboro as part of the investigation.
Officials said the case began after law enforcement received multiple cyber tips from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children regarding suspected child sexual abuse material being shared online. Through information obtained from those cyber tips, investigators identified Bennett and determined he was allegedly in possession of electronic material depicting child sexual exploitation.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office worked alongside the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation during the investigation.
The sheriff’s office is also a member of the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, part of a nationwide network dedicated to protecting children from online exploitation and other internet-related crimes against minors.
Authorities have not released additional details about the ongoing investigation.
