GOLDSBORO, N.C. – Wayne Preparatory Academy basketball standout Isaiah Thomas is taking the next step in his athletic career after signing his letter of intent to play collegiate basketball at Brunswick Community College.
Thomas leaves behind one of the most accomplished basketball careers in Wayne Prep history. During his time with the program, he helped lead the school to a state championship while earning numerous individual honors along the way.
His accolades include being named the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year, earning All-Conference honors for three consecutive seasons, receiving two All-State First Team selections, and being named Conference Player of the Year.
Thomas also etched his name throughout the Wayne Prep record books, finishing his career with more than 2,000 points and becoming the school’s all-time leader in points, assists, rebounds, steals, and blocks.
School officials praised Thomas not only for his accomplishments on the court, but also for the legacy he leaves behind at Wayne Prep Athletics.
Brunswick Community College will now add one of the area’s most decorated high school players to its basketball program as Thomas prepares to continue his academic and athletic journey at the collegiate level.
